Katy the Bookworm

As a child, I LOVED reading. I was constantly teased by my siblings for walking off of the school bus with a book lifted to my face(and I’m sure I stumbled a time or two as well). Somewhere within the years of mundane English courses, I began to lose my love for reading, and instead turned into a math/science nerd. Since then, I’ve read a book or two here and there but never became fully immersed back into my old bookworm-self. Until now. All of a sudden in the beginning of this year, I decided to give a popular book series a try, and it sucked me right back in to a literary vortex. My poor fiancé has had to turn off/turn down the TV and/or radio to not interrupt my reading, spend hours in boring book stores, listen to me go on for hours about a particular part or hear me laugh to myself and be unable to understand what was so funny. On top of that, I have once while at work read my book while walking back to my desk after break(trying to finish the last few pages of a chapter) and was called out by a co-worker. It’s that bad.

I don’t mind it, though. I love reading and I feel excitement once I finish a book and I feel empty and useless until I find another to start. Once again, thank you TV curfew! Just help my fiancé to also find his way to the pile of books that he wants to read but refuses to touch. Please and thank you.

1. Marley and Me. I started this book and never finished the last bit, finally finishing the last 3 chapters sometime around the end/beginning of the year.
2. Twilight. I started this book sometime in March and within a week finished it along with
3. New Moon,
4. Eclipse, and
5. Breaking Dawn.
6. Wuthering Heights. Not long after finishing the Twilight books, I started this dreadful book.
7. Push. I read this book while reading Wuthering Heights(I needed a break).
8. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Read this just after finishing Wuthering Heights. A novella from the Twilight Series.
9. Into the Wild. After seeing the movie I was greatly inspired and wanted to get the full story. Love that crazy kid Chris Mccandless.
10. Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass(they were both combined into one book).
11. Wizard of Oz.
12. Currently re-reading Wicked since I got halfway through and then didn’t pick it up for a year and a half

I'm the same way. I always hated being in between books. I haven't been able to find anything good lately though. I've been on a parenting binge with my reading... I keep getting suckered into these non-fiction guides to this stage of parenting or that stage of parenting or step-parenting, blah blah blah. They're never as good as they promise to be and I miss having a good old story to get into.

Yeah maybe that's what killed my joy for so long because I went through a lot of those kinds of books on various subjects. Ugh!
