It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity. ~Albert Einstein

It’s been a little over a month since we enforced our TV curfew, so I only thought it appropriate to give an update. So far it’s been going very well! The first time we cheated was actually last Sunday(and in our defense I was hung over, sun burnt, and covered in painfully itchy mosquito bites and Bry had a mere 3 hours of broken sleep) and we pretty much watched TV all day. Every other day, though, we’ve stuck to the curfew. I won’t lie and say that every day we’ve been immensely productive, but I can honestly say that it has helped a lot. Here are some of the things that have happened due to our curfew:

-We joined and have been attending a gym
-Took a trip to Niagara Falls
-Bathroom work is well on its way(new floor is in the process of being installed)
-Cleaned up yard and planter in front
-We’ve been making more dinners(which means eating healthier)
-Spending more times with friends we don’t see regularly
-More training and quality time with puppies
-More time spent outside and walking at the park
-Started the process to begin volunteering for the Delaware Humane Association

It’s been wonderful. I still hope that we branch off a little bit more because we will still sit around and do nothing some nights, but baby steps are better than no steps at all.

are you worried at all about the fall - shorter days, crappy weather, etc? Or just living for the day, not worried about tomorrow?

As far as the TV curfew? No, not really. I currently don't get off until 7, so just going to the gym/taking the dogs on a walk and making dinner usually will take us to 8:30 or 9 in itself. Plus, we have PLENTY of work to do around the house and other little projects to keep us busy. I'm sure it won't last forever, but hopefully we'll gain some good habits out of it while we do keep it up!
