Disney

So, I figured I could elaborate more on Disney.

Part of the reason that our wedding date was so perfect was because the following Monday was Columbus day so we didn't have to take as many days off of work. So, we decided to do the same thing this year. We'll be in Disney World for our 1st Anniversary! I've never to Disney World and Bryan hasn't been since he was a toddler, so we're both very excited. Even better, we convinced my sister to come along, so we get to be there while my oldest nephew experience's the magic just before he gets too old for it to be magical.

We're staying at the pop century resort within the park and I'm super excited about it because I'll get to see this(and others like it):

We've been busy reading books that people have let us borrow, making plans/reservations, and talking to people who have already been for good advice. We're currently trying to find the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner on our anniversary. We're trying to find the place that falls perfectly in between the 12-course meals in the uppity restaurants and restaurants that people will pack with their screaming kids. I know - dream on, right?

To anyone who has already been - suggestions?

yayay!! so exciting! We stayed at the sports place in the park - i believe its basically the same as the pop place. very cool.

as for restaurant, we ate at (oh, whats it called) deep blue, or under the sea, or sea blue....i don't know what it called but it's in one of the parks and one wall is glass with water and fish, etc on the other side. sometime people scuba down there too. If i remember right its a nice in-between

I think it's call the coral reef - that was my choice, but Bry is afraid there will be too many kids. His favorite is a steakhouse called Le Cellier that gives the impression that your in the cellar of a castle. They are the two that we're back and forth between the most. It's reassuring to know someone who has been to it because it's hard not to imagine it with screaming kids running in front of your table saying "Look at the fish!" lol

We almost went into a handful of the nicer sit-down restaurants in the parks at the end of the day, but they all required reservations and were booked up pretty early - so plan ahead! (which I'm assuming you know, and that's why you're asking).

We ended up making reservations in the early AM at Universal at an italian restaurant called pastamore on their main strip - but I'd recommend making them earlier than the day of too, because sit times were already filling up when we were walking in the park. We both really enjoyed it. The food was good, the price was more reasonable then like... Emeril's (which I heard kind of sucked), the staff was friendly, etc. We went with Jude and he wasn't out of place, but it def. wasn't exactly a 'family' restaurant (aka, not a lot of kids running around).

We also went to this place called Bongo's in Downtown Disney our first night there. We didn't make reservations, but put our name on the list when we got there and then walked around while we waited for our turn. Could be a nice 'date' night - but I can't imagine Bryan would like much of what was on the menu at that particular restaurant LOL. But as I'm sure you heard, there's tons to do at downtown, so if you plan to make it an early night at the parks in celebration, but still want the Disney experience, it could be fun! I'm pretty sure there was dancing and stuff somewhere... (oh! look into the dinosaur restaurant! not sure if it's a kid's place, but it looked awesome from outside).

Yup, thats exactly why we're looking into them now! And yes, that was another obstacle to work around. We've had to check every menu to see if he would eat anything they served... There was a restaurant we considered in downtown Disney that had a tequila bar(and will still probably go to), but it just didn't register as a place that would be too memorable.

Being curious I looked up the dinosaur restaurant and it has 'layers of the earth lasagna' and 'gigantosaurous burgers'. Clearly not a romantic anniversary dinner, but sounds 'so Bryan and katy'.
